Internet fees in Lebanon to rise, priced at 3,900 LBP

The Minister of Telecommunications, Johnny Corm, claimed that the Internet fees will rise, priced at 3,900 Lebanese pounds, but there will be packages for individuals on low income.

In a radio interview, he continued, “We are compelled to raise tariffs, therefore it is not viable to stay at the 1,500 rate.”

The Minister’s Office confirmed yesterday these statements concerning the increase in recharging card tariffs, stating that: “The ministry does not wish to increase costs, but intends to keep the industry operating.”

The Director of the Minister of Telecommunications’ Office also stated that “what the media published about his comments regarding determining the price of prepaid cards on the pricing of an exchange platform is erroneous and untrue.”
