Is Lebanon facing a new fuel crisis? “Visa Cards” cancelled at stations

The Syndicate of Gas Station Owners in Lebanon issued the following statement: “We station owners are always paying the cost of the rise in global oil prices, and we have noticed recently, that some fuel companies, amid this rise in global oil prices, have refrained from delivering this commodity, and others are delivering it in very small quantities which is not sufficient for the Lebanese market.”

Oil companies are refraining from delivery in order to benefit from the increase that will be inflicted on the price-fixing schedule issued every Tuesday, which creates a shortage of fuels in the market and a crisis that does not exist.

Therefore, we hope that the Minister of Energy respond to the Syndicate’s requests and secure the diesel oil, especially in oil refineries, which will resolve the crisis and prevent oil companies from monopolizing this commodity.

Finally, we apologize to the citizens for canceling the visa card service, because this service incurred many losses. It is not a secret to anyone that we cannot withdraw our money from the banks and we are forced to pay the price of fuel in cash.
