The Minister of Interior and Municipalities Judge Bassam Mawlawi wrote on his Twitter account, saying: “With great efforts, the Information Division in the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces (ISF) managed to liberate the child Rayan Kanaan and return him safely to his family.”

He added: “Once again, we congratulate the heroes of the Division and the ISF for the tasks they carry out to protect their community. With you, we are safe.”

It is worth nothing that kidnapping child Rayan Kanaan from the Halat area has shaken the country yesterday. Two men in a gray “Picanto” car abducted the child, Rayan Kanaan, from Halat – Jbeil, and drove him to an unknown destination.

The operation took place while the child was accompanied by his mother in a market. The kidnappers demanded a ransom of $250,000 for the kidnapped child’s release.
