Minister of Interior and Municipalities Bassam Mawlawi revealed that ISF has thwarted a quantity of drugs.

Mawlawi wrote on his Twitter page: “A new achievement has been conducted by the Internal Security Services proving their determination to combat drug smuggling outside Lebanon, as the Anti-Narcotics Office of the Judicial Police, in cooperation with the Anti-Narcotics Division of the Customs, managed to seize about 12 tons of drugs camouflaged in boxes of powder for juice, heading to Sudan as a first stop.”

He added: “Investigations will continue to inspect the goods on  shipment and the circumstances of the operation. We will spare no effort to thwart all smuggling operations and prevent harm and evil from our Arab brothers.”
