Isolation rooms are catastrophically occupied in hospitals!

The numbers of COVID-19 cases in Lebanon are still worryingly high, as the Ministry of Health recorded yesterday more than 7,000 infection cases.

In this regard, the head of the Private Hospitals Syndicate, Suleiman Haroun, confirmed that “the hospital beds for the Corona virus are occupied to a large extent, while the isolation rooms are occupied by 85%, and this is a disastrous percentage,” hoping “that the new wave of Corona infections will recede.”

Haroun indicated via a radio interview that “the economic crisis has greatly affected people’s admission to hospitals, and the hospitalization cost has increased exponentially, and as the official guarantors have not kept pace with the crisis, therefore the citizen pays a lot and is unable to bear all these burdens.”

He also considered that “the solution begins with the presence of a state that works to come up with solutions,” noting that “the Minister of Health alone cannot solve all matters, and there are decisions that must be issued by the government that is not convening.”
