Israel thwarts attempt to smuggle weapons and drugs on the Lebanese border‎

The Israeli army spokesman, Avichay‏ ‏Adraee, said in a tweet via his account on Twitter: “The Israeli army thwarted an attempt to smuggle weapons and drugs on the Lebanese border, as the army’s surveys yesterday spotted a number of suspects in the western sector of the border, who were transporting bags from inside Lebanon to Israel, and the forces pursued the suspects and arrested the Israeli ones.”

Adraei revealed that “during the arrest process, 15 pistols, 36 kilograms of hashish and dozens of boxes of ammunition, worth about two million shekels, were seized,” noting that “the Israeli army is examining whether Hezbollah provided assistance to the smuggling attempt, and our forces are making widely efforts in confronting the phenomenon of drug and weapons smuggling on the Lebanese borders”.
