Japan’s Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Program (GGP) will provide Dar Al Ajaza Al Islamia Association with a grant so that it can furnish its hospital with medical equipment and a picture archiving and communication system (PACS).
A grant agreement was signed by Ambassador MAGOSHI Masayuki and Dr. Bader Zaidan, the Association’s general manager, on November 24, 2023.
Established by the Association in 1954, Dar Al Ajaza Al Islamia Hospital (DAIH) is a vital healthcare facility that serves around 10,000 people at low cost while being located in a poor district of Beirut.
Given its role in delivering essential medical treatments at a reasonable cost to the most needy, Japan made the decision to supply the cardiology and obstetrics/gynecology departments with an advanced ultrasound equipment and PACS.
This assistance allows accurate and effective diagnostic processes and reinstates vital ultrasound services for approximately 3,000 patients, signifying Japan’s commitment to grassroots healthcare development in Lebanon.
At the signing ceremony, Ambassador MAGOSHI praised the Association’s efforts to support the most vulnerable communities in the region through its comprehensive medical services.
