Jdeideh landfill reopens

Jdeideh landfill has reopened after the development of a plan to protect the area, which requires installing observation points in a circular motion, in coordination with the municipal police in Keserwan and Metn, and with the support of security forces.

“Ramco” trucks started this morning the process of collecting waste from the streets in the two districts, after they stopped working due to the closure of the landfill for six days as a result of security issues between workers infiltrating the landfill to collect recyclable materials, which led to the accumulation of waste in the streets.

MTV Website reported yesterday that the landfill will be reopened after MP Ibrahim Kanaan contacted Caretaker Minister Interior Mohammad Fahmi, the President of the Council for Development and Reconstruction, Eng. Nabil El-Jisr, the owner of the contracting company, Dany Khoury, and the management of “Ramco” company, at a time when Kanaan confirmed that It is unacceptable to continue work in the new landfill without an alternative solution presented by the government.
