Judge Bitar has conducted field simulation of welding workshop in Warehouse No. 12

The National News Agency reported that the Judicial Investigator in the Beirut Port Blast case, Judge Tarek Bitar, supervised yesterday afternoon, in the presence of a number of lawyers representing the concerned parties, the simulation process of the welding workshop that preceded the explosion in Warehouse No. 12 after completing the field preparations made by the Committee A joint arrangement of officers in the army, the Information Division, members of the civil defense and a judge, and in coordination with the Meteorological Department, to link the simulation with climatic conditions, which is supposed to be completely identical to the day of the blast that occurred on August 4, 2020.

A detailed re-enactment of the final welding stage was performed to see if welding was directly responsible for the initial fire and subsequent explosion. For this purpose, a model with a gate identical to the one that was said to have undergone an operation was built, meters away from the gap caused by the explosion. Welding and virtual simulations (photos and videos) were filmed and documented away from the press to be included in the file’s papers.
