Judge Ghada Aoun issues travel ban against 5 Banks’ CEO

The Head of the Public Prosecution Office at the Court of Appeal in Mount Lebanon, Judge Ghada Aoun, issued on Thursday a decision banning the travel of the chairmen of the boards of directors of five major banks in Lebanon, namely: Salim Sfeir -CEO of Bank of Beirut, Samir Hanna -CEO of Bank Audi, Antoine Sehnawy -CEO of Societe Generale, Saad Al-Azhari -CEO of BLOM Bank and Raya Al Hassan -CEO of Bank Med.

This decision follows the interrogation of these individuals last week in financial matters and procedures affecting bank officials. Lawyer Sakher Al-Hashem, the Bank of Beirut’s legal representative, told Sawt Beirut International that this decision “surprised those who are following-up on the investigations into this file,” who were also concerned about his background.
