Media office of General Jean Kahwaji confirmed in a statement that,”Since he left the army command, he was no longer contact with political or spiritual leaders, especially Patriarch Mar Beshara Boutros al-Rahi, whom he has not seen for more than 5 years,  and has neither met him, and thus all the information about General Kahwagi’s visit to Bkerke, his meeting with Patriarch Al-Rahi and his request for his intervention in the ongoing Beirut port explosion’s investigations,  before the date set by Judge Tariq Al-Bitar to hear his testimony, all of these matters not only lack accuracy, but are completely fabricated and baseless, and are but figment of imagination.

Kahwaji affirmed his keenness to reveal the full truth behind the Beirut port explosion disaster, and he will spare no effort to deliver all the information he possesses to the judiciary, in order to achieve justice, in this context, he attended all the investigation sessions set by the former and current judicial investigator, and he cooperated fully with the investigation, and ready to appear again whenever he is asked, because, as he always confirms, he is under the roof of the law and at the disposal of justice.”
