Head of Kataeb Party Sami Gemayel
During its weekly meeting, the Kataeb Party’s Political Bureau, led by Kataeb Leader MP Samy Gemayel, discussed the dangers of the ongoing war in Gaza, Hezbollah’s influence on Lebanon’s fate, and the need to protect the country.
They called for deploying the army along the border, safeguarding Lebanon, and implementing UN Resolution 1701 with international support. The party condemned the targeting of Lebanese civilians and urged the international community to intervene to stop the violence.
The Kataeb Political Bureau also emphasized the importance of fortifying the country against regional developments, restoring institutions, and electing a sovereign and reformist President to restore the state’s authority.
They expressed concern about an upcoming army leadership vacuum and suggested postponing the army commander’s retirement if a President is not elected. The party held the government responsible for any security vacuum and called for proactive measures to address the situation.
