The Director General of Civil Defense, Brigadier Raymond Khattar, issued a written notice praising the work of the General Directorate of Civil Defense, and the Civil Defense personnel, including employees and volunteers, for the following reason:
“They were able to put out the burning fuel tank inside the Zahrani’s oil facilities, not caring about the dangers that threatened their lives. So, they approached the fire directly and were ready to sacrifice their lives in order to fulfill their humanitarian mission, to protect their homeland and to ensure the safety of citizens and institutions. They deserve appreciation.”
