Amidst the political impasse and the absence of initiatives capable of stirring stagnant waters and helping to end the presidential vacancy, and after the completion of the first week of July, there is no accurate information regarding the return of the French envoy Jean-Yves Le Drian to Lebanon in the second half of this month. This is in light of circulating information about the delay of his return until the first of September, according to sources following the movements of the French envoy, citing the reason that Le Drian is convinced that he cannot do anything in the absence of Lebanese consensus.

Sources, in communication with “Al-Anbaa” electronic news, indicated that the French envoy is still preoccupied with ensuring the convergence of political forces that are required to work towards facilitating the election of the president. However, in reality, no single step has been taken to facilitate the election of the president, which greatly annoys him.

Meanwhile, sources expressed concern that the presidential vacancy may extend until the end of the year or even into the new year, thus rendering the presidential election uncertain.
