Lebanese army comments on Tayouneh incidents

The Lebanese Army Command commented on the security incidents in the Tayouneh area, which is witnessing heavy shooting against the background of a sit-in by supporters of “Hezbollah” and “Amal Movement” against the investigative judge in the Beirut port explosion.
The army command said in a statement that as the protesters were aproaching the Adliya area, they were exposed to bursts of fire in the Tayouneh area – Badaro. The army rushed to cordon off the area and deployed in its neighborhoods and at its entrances, and began conducting patrols, as well as searching for the shooters to arrest them.”
The command continued that “the deployed army units will shoot at any armed man on the roads and at anyone who shoots from anywhere else, and asks civilians to evacuate the streets.”
