Lebanese Doctors’ Syndicate Head warns of escalatory measures

The head of the Lebanese Doctors Syndicate in Beirut Sharaf Abou Sharaf  announced on Thursday that “the Federation of Liberal Professions Syndicates in Lebanon is in the process of studying the gradual escalatory measures against those responsible for the crisis of dissolving deposits in banks and squandering the rights of depositors, and forcing them to bear the burdens of losses caused by their financial policies.”

He warned that “the failure of the talks that the country is conducting with the International Monetary Fund and international officials will lead to more social disasters that we are experiencing.”

Abou Sharaf again called for “proposing urgent, fair and logical solutions within a comprehensive structural reform process, and the correct application of laws with transparency, so that the lost confidence in the banking sector and the state returns, so that citizens and international donors are reassured.”

“The banking system has collapsed, the state has lost its basic pillars, poverty and hunger have struck all sectors, and we citizens have lost our lives on the threshold of retirement, and we have nothing left but to confront to collect our rights or leave,” Abou Sharaf concluded.
