The Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Judge Bassam Mawlawi, sent a letter to the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of Cassation regarding the insulting phrase on the site of the late Prime Minister Rafik Hariri’s tomb on the Google Maps application, in order to conduct the necessary investigation and to write to the administration of the aforementioned application in order to detect and call the perpetrator to account.
Mawlawi considered this as a violation of civic peace, an infringement on the sanctity of martyrs, and an encouragement to sedition.
