Lebanese municipality warns supermarket owners to reduce prices of merchandise

Mashha Municipality issued a statement urging owners of supermarkets, institutions, and businesses within its jurisdiction to “lower the pricing of products and items, and to clearly set the price on each category, in light of the huge reduction in the dollar exchange rate.”

It also warned against failing to comply with its order, and reaffirmed that inspection tours of stores and pricing monitoring will begin tomorrow, Monday, in collaboration with Ministry of Economy monitors.

Moreover, the municipality urged “discriminated residents to make a complaint with the municipality so that the matter may be resolved properly.”
