The Information Office of the Presidency of the Republic affirmed that “there is absolutely no truth in what the journalist Jean Aziz reported in his interview last Sunday, and the President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, had no prior knowledge of money smuggling operations and their numbers from Rafic Hariri International Airport, and other fabricated news that had been said during the interview.”
The media office indicated in a statement that “such baseless allegations fall within the framework of programmed campaigns targeting the Presidency of the Republic for reasons that are useless and no longer hidden from anyone.”
Following the presidency’s statement, Jean Aziz wrote on Twitter: “I do not allow myself, even for a moment, to respond to the person who was I always considered as my second… I am certain that he understands me as I do for him.”
ما بسمح لحالي ولا لحظة رد على الشخص اللي كان دايماً بي تاني، حتى سمّيتو أنا بي الكل…
