Lebanon is hopeful about achieving an agreement with Israel on borders demarcation

Caretaker Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Dr. Abdallah Bou Habib, on Friday received in his office at the Ministry the United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Joanna Wronecka, with whom he discussed an array of matters including border demarcation, the Syrian displacement, and the work of UNIFIL.

On the other hand, Caretaker Minister Bou Habib received a copy of the credentials of the newly appointed British and Iranian Ambassadors to Lebanon, Hamish Cowell and Majtaba Hamadani, respectively.

According to Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib, there is greater hope than ever of achieving an agreement to demarcate the maritime borders with Israel through American intervention.

“There has never been such hope as there is today,” Bou Habib stated, according to a message on the ministry’s Twitter account.

He stated that Amos Hochstein, the US envoy mediating the crisis, will come in Beirut early next week to meet with Lebanese authorities and notify them of Israel’s reaction to the Lebanese demand to demarcate the boundary.
