Jean Abi Chedid and Shafik Saliba have been qualified to compete in Asia’s beach soccer semi-final qualifiers in the Tokyo Olympics next month, by winning against the Filipino duo, Jaron Rickenton and James Buitrago, 2-0 (21-19, 21-19) in the Thai capital of Bangkok.
However, Abi Shadid suffered a shoulder injury, and he stated on his social media that he will undergo physiotherapy and take painkillers to be able to compete in the scheduled games today and tomorrow.
Five countries are participating in the Asian qualifiers: Lebanon, Philippines, Australia, Japan, and Kazakhstan.
