Samir Geagea, the leader of the Lebanese Forces party, “highly appreciated the Gulf initiative, which in its terms restored consideration to the Lebanese cause and established the Lebanese demands in a document that reflects their vision of getting out of the crisis and returning Lebanon to its previous era of prosperity and stability.”

In a statement, he said, “I am not surprised by this initiative, which reflects a firm and permanent Gulf concern for Lebanon’s and the Lebanese interests in establishing a state that provides the elements for a decent living for its people in the midst of an incubating Arab environment and within the framework of international legitimacy.”

Geagea highlighted the significance of this initiative because it is a Gulf, Arab, and international initiative that embodies the historical demands of the Lebanese to abide by the Lebanese constitution, the Taif Agreement, Arab League decisions, and international legitimacy resolutions, and it represents a real opportunity to extricate Lebanon from the hell it has descended into.

He also stressed the need for official Lebanon to accompany the Gulf rescue initiative with practical steps, otherwise this team will not only bear the responsibility of bringing Lebanon to hell, but also the consequences of insisting on keeping it in this hell.
