The National Authority of the Litani River announced on Saturday that irrigation water will be cut off in some towns in southern Lebanon starting from Tuesday so as to carry out maintenance works.
“Maintenance and distribution teams in the Saida-Jezzine irrigation project department in Lebaa will cut off irrigation water for subscribers in some towns, starting from Tuesday (June 15) for a period of 4 days,” the authority said in a statement.
It said this measure will be taken in order to carry out maintenance of a malfunction on the main network in Ain al-Mir town, near al-Ain region, noting that the towns that will be affected are Ain al-Mir, Baisour, al-Mharbiyeh, Jensnaya, al-Qraiyeh, al-Mjaydel, Ain al-Delb, Miyeh w Miyeh, Darb El Sim and Zaghdraiya.
The National Authority of the Litani River called on subscribers who benefit from the project irrigation water to “take all necessary measures to irrigate their crops until maintenance works required to be executed are finalized.”
