The Litani River Authority warned in a statement residents and consumers against some fishermen who are still hunting fish from Lake Qaraoun, even though it has been proven that the fish are contaminated and not suitable for human consumption.
The authority held the concerned ministries and administrations responsible for taking measures required to protect the health of consumers and prevent fishing.”
It said that those who aim to work in the parliamentary elections can gain votes through addressing pollution problems and by holding polluters accountable, and not by encouraging fishing from sewage water, which damages the health of the Lebanese.
