Member of Parliamentary Health Committee, MP Ali Mekdad said that “an emergency health plan is vital to combat the outbreak of the ‘Omicron’ variant, by heading to the centers that the Ministry of Public Health is working to activate through the marathon.”

He added: “As for Baalbek-Hermel, there was confusion that there is an exception for the governorate from the marathon. In turn, we announce that Baalbek Governmental Hospital will start receiving anyone who needs a vaccine from tomorrow, Monday until Friday next week, and we call on all citizens from different groups to head towards Baalbek Governmental Hospital in order to receive the vaccine, as well as to the Marathon Center of the Baalbek Municipalities Union, and to Hermel Governmental Hospital.”

Mekdad added: “We were able in cooperation with the Ministry of Public Health, to increase the number of centers to three and extend the time dedicated for inoculating people. We must respond and expedite receiving the vaccine, which is the only protection in addition to social distancing, masks and hand washing, and we must remember how Corona began.”
