Messages to Lebanon.. Are demarcation negotiations for Beirut’s interest?

Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations, Gilad Erdan, called on the Security Council to intervene after Hezbollah launched drones towards the Karish field, stressing that Israel would take all measures to defend its infrastructure.
According to what was reported by the Israeli Broadcasting Corporation, “Makan”, Gilad Erdan confirmed in a letter he sent to the UN Security Council that “the launching of drones, is a clear attempt to threaten Israel’s security,” considering that this matter is “a provocation that may lead to an escalation of the situation in the region.” Stressing that “it should be strongly condemned by the international community.”

According to Makan, it was reported that “in recent days, official French authorities have conveyed messages to Lebanon that negotiations over the demarcation of the maritime border with Israel, are in the interest of Beirut, and that provocative actions such as launching drones may affect the dialogue process.”
