Prime Minister Najib Mikati tweeted in response to a tweet by French President Emmanuel Macron.
Mikati said: “The call that took place between me and French President Emmanuel Macron and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is an important step towards reviving the historical brotherly relations with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.”
He added: “I would like to especially thank President Macron and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their keenness on maintaining their friendship towards Lebanon. I would like to assure my government’s commitment to honoring its adherence to reform.”
Macron had previously tweeted: “I had a frank and meaningful conversation with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman about our political priorities: the security and stability of the region, with priority given to Lebanon. We had a phone call with Prime Minister Najib Mikati, during which commitments were exchanged.
