Prime Minister Najib Mikati chaired, at the Grand Serail on Wednesday, a meeting for the special ministerial committee tasked with devising and following up on the national strategy of social protection.

The meeting focused on the means to implement this long-term strategy.

The committee is to meet again to finalize the plan before its inclusion on the Cabinet agenda.

Separately, Mikati received French Ambassador to Lebanon, Anne Grillo, with whom he discussed the latest political developments on the local and international scenes.

He later welcomed former minister Ghattas Khoury.
