Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati’s press office on Tuesday denied statements that have been attributed to the PM about the monthly wages of Lebanese diplomats abroad.
“Those statements that have been attributed to the PM are fabricated and baseless. The PM, along with Caretaker Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Abdullah Bou Habib, is seeking a solution to the problem with diplomats’ wages. The PM highly appreciates every effort that Lebanese diplomats exert in order to serve the Lebanese abroad and to strengthen Lebanon’s relations with the countries in which they represent it,” the statement read.
