Prime Minister-designate Najib Mikati indicated to Al-Jadeed channel, that “the decision to present the government formation was taken at night and in my own handwriting, after everyone abstained from participating, and the options became narrow.”
He pointed out that “what I presented to President Aoun is ministerial amendment, but it does not include everyone, and there was no contact with the head of the Free Patriotic Movement, Gebran Bassil, except during consultations and in general matters.”
Earlier today, Mikati announced, after his meeting with President Michel Aoun at Baabda Palace, that he handed President Michel Aoun the government line-up, which he deems appropriate.
