Prime Minister Najib Mikati, received this afternoon at the Grand Serail an American delegation, which included Congressmen Darrell Issa and Darin Lahood, head of the “American Action Group for Lebanon” Edward Gabriel, and members Mike Ahmar, Hania Ahmar, Mackay Lahoud and James McClellan, in the presence of US Ambassador Dorothy Shea.

During the meeting, Mikati expressed his appreciation for “the USA standing by Lebanon and its continuous support for the army,” stressing Lebanon’s commitment to implementing international resolutions and maintaining security and stability.

In turn, the US delegation stressed standing by Lebanon in various fields and supporting the efforts of the Lebanese government.

The delegation also stressed the “necessity to end political differences in order to focus on addressing the economic and social conditions.”
