Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati said that “the next stage will be based on a caretaking to manage state’s and citizens’ affairs, and the first and last solution is to elect a new president quickly.”

In an interview with An-Nahar, Mikati indicated that there are several immediate issues that must be followed up, such as electricity and contributing to improving nutrition, leading to the adoption of reform bills that the IMF emphasizes.

He pointed out that “the House of Representatives must be urged to elect a president, and it has become clear who wants good for the country and who wants evil.”

Mikati added, “I am confident that none of the ministers will fail to carry out his national duties or attend if necessary.”
