Najib Mikati, the acting prime minister, emphasized on Thursday that Lebanon’s government was keeping up its diplomatic efforts to explain its stance and urge allies to apply pressure in order to avoid Israeli incursions and the war from spreading into Lebanon.
Mikati stated at the start of today’s cabinet meeting at the Grand Serail, “It is true that the war is still limited to the Gaza Strip, but what is happening in south Lebanon, and the fall of martyrs day after day are things that must stop.”
During the cabinet meeting, the ministers observed a minute of silence in honor of the martyrs who lost their lives in Gaza and South Lebanon.
