Former Prime Minister Najib Mikati’s press office on Monday issued a statement dismissing as inaccurate news that had been circulated by some media outlets about “deliberations and consultations that took place within the last few days, some of which are related to ministerial portfolios, most specifically the Ministry of Interior.”

“We are keen on clarifying that what is being circulated in this context is absolutely not true, especially that Prime Minister Najib Mikati refuses to discuss any matter related to the formation of the government before the end of parliamentary consultations and the issuance of the assignment statement,” the statement added.
