Minister of Agriculture: Closure of Saudi market is a pressing factor

The Minister of Agriculture, Abbas Hajj Hassan, announced that “the Ministry of Agriculture has set a ceiling that prevents the exit of any product, without checks that confirm its validity for consumption, in order to avoid any diplomatic clash, so I affirm Lebanon’s commitment to partnership with its Arab surroundings within the logic of reciprocity.” He continued: “The closure of the Saudi market and other markets is a pressing factor, and from the first moment we are working to open new markets. I am not saying that we are looking for an alternative to the Saudi market, because we will definitely return to this market, and Saudi Arabia will definitely return to Lebanon.”
He pointed out in a press interview, that “there is a project that was postponed for various reasons, which is the cannabis, and its implementation decrees must be prepared to become effective. It alone can feed the treasury with approximately one billion dollars annually.”
