Youssef Khalil, Minister of Finance, signed a notification extending the deadline for exemption from penalty and charges for late payment of taxes and fees from 10/18/2019 to 12/31/2021.

The following was reported in the media:

“The deadline for settling all taxes and fees without having to pay any collection fines or interest for the period from 10/18/2019 to 12/31/2021 is 12/31/2021.”

In the case of a payment delay beyond the above-mentioned deadline, a fine of 1.5 percent per month for taxes deducted at source and value added tax, and 1 percent per month for all other taxes, will be applied effective January 1, 2022.

It is necessary to settle the payments after 12/31/2021 on their due date in order to avoid having to pay the entire sum of the payments.”
