Caretaker Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Dr. Abdullah Bou Habib, on Thursday welcomed a delegation representing the US Congress and the US Task Force for Lebanon, with whom he discussed political and economic issues.

The meeting underlined the pressing need to elect a new Lebanese president and to form a new government, as soon as possible, in a bid to start seriously mulling ways to improve the country’s dire conditions.

The delegation also called for “accelerating investigations into Beirut Port blast and for securing electricity and other livelihood issues.”
