After the complaints that Minister of Tourism Walid Nassar followed up on some social media sites about a situation that some described as catastrophic at Beirut International Airport, especially at the arrivals hall, which is full of people who came to receive family and friends, without any preventive measures from Corona, as that the majority do not adhere to the masks. Minister Nassar’s media office stated that the Minister contacted immediately the Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Judge Bassam al-Mawlawi, and the head of Beirut International Airport, Engineer Fadi al-Hassan, to inquire. Mawlawi reported to him that he followed up the matter and communicated with the airport security apparatus, so that it was agreed to take a decision to keep citizens at a distance from each other while putting on masks, provided that seizure records are organized against anyone who violates.
The statement stressed that implementing the measures is a duty for officials to follow, but the greater responsibility remains on the citizen himself; “Just as we want Lebanon to return a tourist country and motivate expatriates to visit, we affirm our keenness on the safety of everyone, residents and expatriates, which remains a top priority for us.”
