The Minister of Public Works and Transport Dr. Ali Hamieh indicated that since the third day of his assumption of the ministry’s duties, he instructed the teams and contractors of the ministry to isolate and clean waterways from international highways, and to remain fully prepared to intervene in order to avoid floods resulting from blockage in sewers during the rainy season.

He said: “I had written to the governors and municipalities through the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities, regarding the necessity of removing waste from the streets, and highways, due to the need to work in a parallel and integrated manner in order to preserve public safety before the winter season.”

Hamieh considered that “the concerted and integrated efforts are necessary for its success.”
