Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemns burning of Quran in Sweden: To put an end to provocations.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates strongly condemned the act of burning the Holy Quran in Sweden by a group of extremists. In a statement, the Ministry emphasized that this repeated act constitutes an assault on the sanctity of Muslims and an incitement to their sentiments. It further noted that such acts only exacerbate Islamophobia and hatred towards Muslims instead of promoting tolerance and coexistence among religions and civilizations. The Ministry firmly stated that these actions cannot be justified under the pretext of freedom of expression, as they fuel animosity and generate violence.

The Ministry also called for putting an end to these provocations and considering them as punishable crimes under the law, given their negative repercussions and impact on interfaith relations and people’s harmony.
