Ministry of Health reports positive news with 165 new Covid-19 cases, 3 deaths
Lebanon’s private sector economy continued to contract
Today, the Ministry of Public Health reported three deaths and 165 new Covid-19 infections in Lebanon.
During the Pfizer Marathon, Lebanon set a new record for the amount of Covid-19 vaccines given in a single day, bringing the total number of vaccine recipients to almost one million.
“Nearly 23,000 people were vaccinated on Sunday, in the third weekend that is being used to implement the “marathon” against the Covid-19 pandemic to speed up vaccinations,” according to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, which is urging all residents aged 53 and over, as well as people with special needs aged 16 and up, to “receive doses of the “Pfizer-Biontech” vaccine.
Since the pandemic began in February 2020, Lebanon has reported more than 542,000 Covid-19 cases and over 7,800 deaths as a result of the virus, despite the fact that the country’s population of 6 million includes about one million Syrian refugees.
