Ministry of Health ups calls for full adherence to preventive measures against Covid-19

In view of the increasing number of Coronavirus cases locally, regionally, and internationally, Lebanon’s Ministry of Public Health issued the following statement:

“Since the Coronavirus pandemic is not over yet, and in light of the many new mutations that have caused an increase in the number of Covid-19 cases in many countries, especially European ones, and given the fact that those vaccinated with two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine in Lebanon does not exceed 45%, the Ministry of Public Health has issued the following recommendations:

-Full adherence to preventive measures in terms of social distancing, hand washing, and wearing a mask, especially in public institutions, gatherings, restaurants, and closed places.

-Citizens should rush to take the vaccine in the event that not a single dose has been taken yet, as it has been scientifically proven that receiving the Covid vaccine on a regular basis reduces deaths resulting from the disease in a remarkable way and limits its complications, especially those that require hospitalization or intensive care.

-Everyone who has received two doses of the vaccine should take a third dose.

-Based on scientific recommendations, anyone who has received the third dose, can now obtain a fourth dose after six months without a prior appointment through the “walk in” service.

The Ministry encourages the vaccination of children 5 to 12 years of age upon the availability of the vaccine for this age group.
