Ministry of Interior: “More than 100 prisoners vaccinated with Pfizer”

Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Bassam Mawlawi’s office issued the following statement:
“Based on the directives of the Minister of Interior and Municipalities, and on October 21, 2021, the third phase of the process of vaccinating prisoners and detainees wishing to be vaccinated with the “Pfizer” vaccine, was launched in the palaces of justice and internal security forces in Beirut, within a specific timetable. The number of people vaccinated on this date reached 103 between prisoners and detainees (female and male).
A team from Médecins Sans Frontières-France carried out the vaccination process by visiting the places of detention, accompanied by the Ministry of Public Health, the medical body of the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces, the World Health Organization and the International Committee of the Red Cross. This vaccination campaign was accompanied by awareness campaigns for prisoners and detainees on the importance of Vaccination, to be completed in the next few weeks, to cover all prisons on Lebanese soil.”
