The Ministry of Labor issued today the following statement :

“In order to ensure the best interest of foreign workers’ rights in Lebanon, and whereas the measures taken when workers leave their workplace to an unknown destination requires publishing an ad in a local newspaper in order to report the flight of the worker. Whereas such a procedure constitutes a violation of human rights in terms of stigmatization, the Ministry of Labor confirms the memorandum it has issued on December 14, 2020, in which it canceled the announcement of foreign workers leaving their work, and the acceptance of requests for retrieval of the certificate of deposit without resort to this announcement.”
