Mountain roads blocked across Lebanon due to snow

The Traffic Management Center on Wednesday reported that several mountainous roads have been blocked across Lebanon due to the accumulation of snow in the following regions:

Aynata – Arz

Oyoun El Siman – Hadath Baalbek

Mnaitra – Hadath Baalbek

Aqoura – Hadath Baalbek

Jurd Merbin – Hermel

Hermel – Sir El Denieh

The Meteorological Department in Lebanon previously reported that “Lebanon is gradually affected by an atmospheric low-pressure area that is currently concentrated in northwest Egypt, which leads to volatile and sometimes rainy weather during the coming days. Rain will be light, scattered, and distributed more over the interior and southern regions as a result of the low-pressure and Its passage over Egypt.

On Monday, the weather will be cloudy to partly cloudy with a decrease in temperatures and fog on the heights. Scattered rain falls, intensifying at times, during the morning period, and snow at a height of 1600 meters and above. The rain recedes from noon with wide breaks.

On Tuesday, the weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy with high temperatures, especially on the mountains during the day, with fog on the heights. Scattered rain will start falling in the afternoon and intensifies during the night with lightning, thunder and active winds. Snow falls at a height of 1500 meters and above.
