Caretaker Minister of Public Works and Transport, Dr. Michel Najjar, on Monday received Russian Ambassador to Lebanon, Alexander Rudakov, at the head of a delegation comprising representatives of giant investment companies concerned with infrastructure and port affairs.

The meeting took place in the presence of Beirut Port Director General Bassem Al-Qaisi.

Minister Najjar stressed Lebanon’s serious wish to develop modern technical designs for the port of Beirut and studies to include all logistical issues, including a vision for the port’s role in Lebanon and the region with a focus on establishing solid scientific bases for the Port’s administrative, legal and technical aspects.

The delegation expressed a serious desire to contribute, through the BOT, to vital projects in Lebanon, most notably the Beirut port reconstruction project.
