The Presidency of the Council of Ministers issued an administrative memorandum declaring August 4th a national mourning day, and suspending work in all public administrations and institutions, as well as municipalities will be closed, marking the tragic commemoration of Beirut Port blast.
The memorandum stated that all “Public administrations, public institutions and municipalities will be closed on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, in commemoration of the tragic anniversary of the Beirut Port blast, and flags will be put at half-mast over administrations, public institutions and municipalities, and regular programs on radio and television stations shall be modified to commemorate the painful tragedy, and in solidarity with the families of the martyrs and the wounded”.
