In a separate context, a member of the Syndicate of Gas Station Owners, George Al-Barraks, said, in a commentary on the previous high rise in fuel prices, that “the recent international causes, especially with regard to the war in Ukraine and its economic repercussions and repercussions on global markets, still cast a shadow on oil prices, as the Brent price rose and ranged in recent days between 109 and 115 dollars.
In Lebanon, the rise in the price of imported gasoline, about $26, and the rise in the dollar exchange rate, according to the exchange platform, led to an increase in the price of a can of gasoline 32,000 pounds from 556,000 to 588,000 pounds.
He said: “As for the price of diesel, we witnessed a decrease of approximately $36 per kiloliter of imported oil due to the decline in its prices globally as a result of the end of the cold and winter period and the decline in demand for it, but the rise in the exchange rate of the dollar in the free market approved to determine the price of diesel led to a rise in the price of the sheet metal 3000 pounds from 678000 to 681,000 pounds.”
