Ministry of Public Health announced in its COVID-19 daily report, the registration of 801 new infections, which raised the cumulative number of confirmed cases to 612713, and 12 deaths were recorded.

On the other hand, the new Minister of Public Health, Dr. Firas Abyad, pointed out, that the number of daily Corona cases in Lebanon is still high, although it is much lower than the number of cases we reached in the last wave, noting that “our hospital received many patients who were vaccinated or infected previously, no doubt it is due to the more contagious delta mutant.”

Abyad added: “Another note is the large number of requests received to transfer Corona patients from emergency departments in other hospitals to our hospital, due to the lack of beds. It is clear that many hospitals are no longer opening their Corona wards, or demanding large additional sums of money from patients.”
