Saudi ambassador, Walid Bukhari, tweeted on the anniversary of the August 4 explosion, and wrote: “Many believe in the truth and few speak it.”
Lebanon commemorates the second anniversary of the historic explosion that hit the port of Beirut and its surroundings, and the silos are still standing like a statue that is about to fall as a result of cracks and fires that have destroyed parts of it for days, which the Lebanese inspired as a symbol of a tragedy rooted in their memory.
The families of the explosion’s victims are unable to obtain justice for what they describe as the “crime of the century,” and hold the official authorities responsible for obstructing the investigations.
Huge material damage affected the port and large parts of Beirut, which is still groaning under the weight of the explosion, and a severe economic crisis that the country has been suffering from for more than two and a half years.
